Lord Boyce
Admiral the Lord Boyce GCB OBE DL,
Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports and Constable of Dover Castle
'The Cinque Ports and their Place in our History'
Dartmouth and Kingswear have their defensive castles; Lord Boyce's entertaining and informative talk concerns the development and history of the much earlier defence and trading confederation in South East England, established in the C11th and still known as 'The Cinque Ports.'
Lord Boyce ended his Naval career as First Sea Lord, was then appointed Chief of the Defence Staff, 2001-2003, and subsequently elevated to the peerage. Lord Boyce was appointed 109th Lord Warden and Admiral of the Cinque Ports and Constable of Dover Castle in July 2004. He will be happy to answer questions afterwards.
The CAB is immensely grateful to Lord Boyce for his support.
